Look closer before you choose.

A beautiful room begins with a piece you understand. Photographs show its character; the materials, construction and measurements help you decide whether it belongs in your home.

Compare the piece, not just the price.

Two rugs with a similar pattern can have different fibres, construction, dimensions and finishes. Compare the stated fibre composition, whether the rug is knotted, woven or tufted, its size and the work visible in the close-ups. A lower or higher price alone does not establish authenticity or quality.

Ask to see the details.

For a rug, ask for photographs of the pile, reverse, edges and fringe. For a mirror or carved object, look closely at the frame, joins, surface and backing. Ask what every inlay or decorative material actually is; a colour or traditional style name is not a material specification.

Measure for your room.

Check the listed dimensions against your furniture and available wall or floor space. Ask whether rug measurements include the fringe and whether mirror measurements include the full frame. For large pieces, measure doorways, stairs and lifts before agreeing delivery.

Read the photograph as well as the description.

A styled interior can help you imagine a piece at home, but it does not establish scale, materials or condition. Use the product photographs and written specifications to make those decisions. If you need a particular detail, request a current close-up before ordering.

Understand the complete quote.

For pieces with individually quoted delivery, confirm the selected size and finish, piece price, packing, freight and delivery arrangements in writing. Ask who pays any import duties or taxes, and check the applicable return terms. Do not assume a supplier guarantee covers every destination or every type of damage.
